Labrador Nature & Coastal Walk

Already a little obsessed with walking, I went to the Labrador Nature & Coastal Walk.

We started our journey from Alexandra Garden Trail that connects the Southern Ridges to the coast.

This trail is parallel along the main road, I felt like I was slowly vanishing away from the city and wandering into a tranquility world!

Playing around and set my mind free from daily life!

Reached the next trail, Berlayer Creek, one of the most accessible mangrove areas in the city.

Continued my journey on the boardwalk.

I took my time to observe nature and felt blessed that I was able to feel life in simple forms!

Saw the sea, so close! That's when we reached Labrador Nature Reserve. When looking out to the sea, I felt overwhelmed by big waves splashing against the shore, yet felt at ease and quiet at the same time!

Continued walking on the Bukit Chermin Boardwalk, the last trail of this journey. Had a view of the conserved black-and-white bungalows, watched people cruising on their yacht and admired scenery while walking on the promenade! Lovely, I thought!
Walked to Harbourfront and finally rested at Vivocity and recharged myself with my favorite drink!

Haw Par Villa

A trip when I was in hiatus and now I decided to post it on my blog!

To most of Singaporeans, Haw Par Villa is like a godforsaken place! But I'd never been there before, so I made a trip there. I was happy to see how well perserved this place was.

Lots of colorful statues that are rich in Chinese culture!
Better than my expectations.

Doing what I do best when I'm in a happy mood!

Saw some nice paintings on the wall!

Reached the Wishing Well area! I rang the bell for my wishes!

In front of Hell Gate, I was reluctant to go in because it's dark inside, but I was also curious about what would happen in Hell!

My curiousity won me over! Hahahah! Erm, it's not scary at all!

After going through Hell, I came across a red-eared slider walking on the road!

Found a silly looking horse.

Explored the rest of Haw Paw Villa.

This place is huge! I was totally amazed and glad I made a trip there!

Ending this post with some beautiful scenes at Haw Par Villa and showing a hidden part of me. Grrr!!! I am a tigress!

Steady

I've just done a quick watercolor painting!

"Steady", watercolor, 30 x 42 cm.

" I'll always be with you, I promise! We are steady, under all circumstances!"

Off to Labrador Nature & Coastal Walk soon! The sky looks a little gloomy! Hope it won't rain later!

Key to progress

I have started drawing pretty well at a young age of 3 but only started watercolor painting few years back. I treated drawing and painting as a hobby and never went to any proper art lessons before. I enjoy self-taught through practice.

I used to feel disappointed at myself easily when the painting didn't turn out looking good and end up tearing away my paintings and somehow lost interest in painting for a while!

But Lg always encourage me not to give up painting and he even claimed that all my paintings belonged to him, I have no right to destroy them!

I painted a really beautiful painting today! Here it is:

"Immersed", watercolour, 30cm x42cm. A sakura tree beside a waterfall and somehow they immersed into each other in a miracle way!

I enjoy the process of painting this one! It's fun and motivated me to keep on practicing to be better in watercolor medium!

After first few washes, wet in wet, I kept layering colors until I was pleased! To be honest, I didn't have any idea what to paint next, I just knew that I want something lively and positive!

Then I wanted to make my painting look miracle so I sprinkled some salt to add sparkles to it!

After that, I wanted to add some mysterious feeling, therefore I painted a tree with branches using Chinese Ink.

But I accidentally spilled huge patches of ink onto my painting.
Clumsy me! !

I panicked but I remembered Lg always reminded me that it's ok to make mistakes, just fix it and work it out again. That's when the whole picture appeared in my mind, I knew that I could fix the ink patches by adding flowers to it, rather than tearing it away!

I continued adding flowers and branches to my painting and also some shades of green to my sakura tree.

Almost done and I'm happy that I saved my painting and the result is beyond what I expected! Doesn't it look like a sweet dream?!

With each step you take, you will grow stronger and stronger, more and more skilled, more and more self-confident and more and more successful.”
